My son had the right, until he was 21, to decide if he wanted to claim Canadian citizenship, to which he was entitled through me. He never did so - in fact, he told me the other day, when we discussed the issue, that he couldn't remember us telling him this. He might still have a slightly easier path to Canadian citizenship than most Americans, but I don't know for certain. He might have that opportunity only if he was choosing to live in Canada.
